Audi has released a new general touring version of their R8 supercar, the Audi R8 GT. The new R8 is true to the track in every fashion, from its smart muscle engine to its racing-inspired trim. In its design, this silver and black beast is lined with subtle red accents, from brakes to badge to interior detail. The Audi R8 GT improves on the Audi R8 V10 by slimming down yet maintaining the muscle of its predecessor. A diet of carbon fiber has shed 220 pounds off of the next gen R8, making the added muscle even more productive. It is powered by 560 horsepower V10 engine which will push this general tourer to 62mph in 3.6 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 198.8 mph. The new Audi R8 GT will produced in a run limited of 333 units, selling in Germany for a converted $256,000 USD. There’s no word yet on a U.S. release, but we doubt Audi will hold out for too long.
