Alpine Shelter Skuta is a modular structure that was fabricated in parts and airlifted to the site. Its three individual modules are designed to reflect the mountain peaks around them, taking on the visual character of the Alps. They’re lined with a metal skin on the walls and roof, a feature that protects the structure from the harsh environment while visually blending with the scenery. Each end of the shelter features floor-to-ceiling glass, taking in the breathtaking Alpine views. This project is not a private cabin for a wealthy traveler, it’s designed as a public project to serve climbers on the Skuta peak. Those who pass and need shelter are welcomed to use the facility freely. It features a storage and food preparation area, a series of bunks for sleeping and a social gathering spot at the end. Its design is certain to make a strong impression on its guests, a point where climbers can celebrate their achievement on the peak of the Kamnik Alps.
